Lauren MacPhail-Cowles, board member of TIDE Cancer Foundation and breast cancer survivor, delivered 40 comfort bags to Saint Francis. Established in 2021, TIDE Cancer Foundation has supported women with cancer hoping these gifts would provide courage and comfort during their treatment and recovery. Gina and John founded TIDE in an effort to pay forward the care they received while Gina has dealt with two cancer bouts.
This is their second donation this year and they had a little help assembling the bags from the Southern Connecticut State University Women's Basketball Team. Team members also wrote messages in each bag's journal, one of the comfort items. For TIDE, this sense of community and friendship gives them hope for a cancer-free future and we are grateful for their partnership and vision.
