Bombas donated 250 pairs of socks

What’s the Buzz!!

The Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital In-Patient Gym is a “hive” of activity.  It is where patients, therapists, nurses and the entire treatment team engage patients and their families in activities that will enhance independence. To maximize safety, socks and appropriate footwear are encouraged for all patients.  Unfortunately, not all patients have these items.

In order to solve this situation, we reached out to the Bombas Giving Program and received a generous donation of 250 pairs of socks.  This organization’s motto is “One Pair Purchased = One Pair Donated” and to date they have donated almost 5,000,000 pairs of socks.  Their name is derived from the Latin for bumble bee, which represents a group of small members that work together to make big things happen.  Their incredible gift will warm the feet or our patients and the hearts of staff that care for them.

Representation from admissions, nursing, physiatry, therapy and patients, Mr. & Mrs. Weiner gathered to offer a collective “thank you from the bottom of our hives” wish to Bombas.
