The Auxiliary of Saint Francis Pledges $1 Million

Founded in 1926, the mission and purpose of The Auxiliary of Saint Francis is to support the Hospital by providing services that complement patient care and funding for its various needs, while fostering interest throughout the community for the Hospital's continued growth. Nearly every part of Saint Francis Hospital has been touched by the fundraising efforts of our Auxiliary members and the Auxiliary-run retail and specialty boutiques.  We have received more than $9 million in gifts from the Auxiliary which has supported our nurses, the Karl J. Krapek, Sr. Comprehensive Women's Health Center, the Hope & Healing Cancer Campaign, the Joan C. Dauber Food Pantry and Women's Heart Health, just to name a few.

The Auxiliary's recent $1 million pledge will help us renovate the Women and Infants unit at Saint Francis.  These efforts will ensure that the birth experience reflects the needs and desires of every mother and family.   Physical upgrades will create a warm, home-like environment throughout the unit, with a welcoming entrance, expanded waiting area and family focused space, additional seating for families, comfortable sleeping areas for significant others and the Mother’s Room, a dedicated breastfeeding space.  More than 3,000 babies are born a year at Saint Francis Hospital and with this renovation, each precious delivery will be in a compassionate and healing environment focused on the medical and emotional well-being of each patient.
