Thank you to our generous donors for making the October grand opening of the new Serenity Suite at Saint Francis Hospital possible. This peaceful retreat for our caregivers was made a reality through the incredible support of our community, including board members, grateful patients, hospital leadership, and corporate partners. A special thank you goes to the Connecticut Health & Education Facilities Authority (CHEFA) for their lead gift.
The Serenity Suite embodies our community’s commitment to supporting caregivers who work tirelessly to help others. Designed as a sanctuary for caregivers to recharge during demanding shifts, the suite saw over 2,200 visits in its first two weeks. Colleagues have described it as a "game changer" and "life saver." This immersive space features HD nature scenes, surround sound, mood lighting, aromatherapy, a massage chair, and a yoga area, allowing caregivers to personalize their retreat. By investing in these moments of peace, we’re enhancing caregiver resilience, which ultimately elevates the quality of care for our patients.
“Our colleagues’ needs and comfort were central to the Serenity Suite’s design, reflecting our deep appreciation for all they do,” said Michael Rogers, Ph.D., Mission Leader. “We are immensely grateful to our caregivers for the compassionate, high-quality care they provide every day, and this suite is one way we can show our commitment to them as they remain committed to our patients.”
Due to the tremendous response and growing demand, we are now fundraising to expand the Serenity Suite at Saint Francis and to establish a similar space for caregivers at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital. Community support is essential to make these spaces a reality.
