Civic Leadership High School donates comfort bags to cancer patients.

The CREC Civic Leadership High School (CLHS) is a magnet school located in Enfield, CT.  The school focuses on developing and preparing students to be engaged members of their communities.  One such way that they do this is through students’ active participation in community service projects.  The Capitol Region Athletic League, of which CLHS is a member school, also strives to build sportsmanship and leadership qualities within its athletes through community engagement.

As a result, the Lady Eagles Volleyball team of CLHS set a goal this season of raising funds in an effort to purchase supplies for care packages to be delivered to cancer patients receiving chemotherapy locally.  At the conclusion of the season, the CLHS Volleyball girls excitedly put together the gift bags, which Lisa Jordan, Librarian at CLHS and cancer patient, delivered to Saint Francis Hospital – Smilow Cancer Hospital.  These gifts will give our patients hope and comfort as they receive their cancer treatments.  We are grateful to Lisa, the students and CLHS as they once again remind us that together, we are making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
