Generating nearly $1 million and attracting a sell-out crowd of 1,400 guests annually, MIRACLES is the Hospital's biggest fundraiser of the year. As the largest black-tie gala in the state, this event draws Hospital leadership, company executives, physicians, grateful patients and other loyal supporters throughout the community, allowing for great business exposure and excellent networking opportunities. Proceeds from the 23rd Annual MIRACLES Gala will support the new Comprehensive Women's Health Center at Saint Francis. Scheduled to open in late 2013, the CWHC will provide the very best healthcare for women in the nation’s most advanced state-of-the-art facility. When the CWHC opens its doors, the Comprehensive Breast Health Center, the Phillips Women’s Heart Program, Integrative Medicine, and Gynecological Services will be just a few of the services available. Focused on providing coordinated care specifically for women, the Center will offer the most innovative state-of-the-art technology, world-class physicians, highly-trained nurses and technicians along with the best in education, prevention, diagnosis and treatment in an environment that is architecturally designed to promote health and healing.

This will be the 14th year that friends and family of Paul Karvoski have teed it up for the Saint Francis/Mount Sinai Regional Cancer Center. Last year the Center established the Karvoski Genetics Program to assist patients with genetic counseling for hereditary cancers. Please join us to support this wonderful family and this incredible program!

Nursing Education at Saint Francis

The 23rd Annual Swing for Saint Francis Golf & Tennis Outing will benefit Nursing Education at Saint Francis. Nurses are central to the core mission of Saint Francis: to deliver compassionate patient care. It is imperative that nurses remain current in all aspects of their practice, as it makes a significant difference with patient outcomes. It is critical that we encourage our nurses to return to school, attend professional conferences and participate in educational opportunities, including support for increasing the number of our nurses with baccalaureate degrees. Funds raised from Swing for Saint Francis will allow Saint Francis to be a leader and innovator in Nursing, and further us in our mission of providing BestCare for a Lifetime.

Special Programs at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital

Proceeds from the 16th Annual Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital Golf Classic will support the purchase of a “Multi-Use” Rehabilitation Vehicle — a 2012 Ford FLEX. The “Multi-Use” Vehicle will enable MSRH to transport the Adaptive Golf Cart to various courses, for the Golfers In Motion Program. For many individuals, lack of access to an adaptive golf cart is the only barrier to independence at a golf course. In addition, the “Multi-Use” Vehicle will provide therapists an opportunity to engage patients in “skilled” treatment programs for physical, occupational, recreational and speech therapy applications, in their communities. Receiving treatment and education in a community setting aids patients and caregivers in the transition from hospitalization to home.
